After seeing this fantastic dicumentary

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwSTDzaZ234

I'm suddenly converted to the cause of global warming. Apparently, if we keep driving petrol cars, eagles and vultures will contract a mutated version of bird flu which will cause them to attack people, shit napalm and/or acid on people and generally explode. I think.

All this exciting bird action (which begings 50 minutes in) is interspersed with meetings with randonm strangers who explain to us all the problems caused by these selfish bastards using their cars - after which the lead characters get in their car and drive off aimlessly...

A fascinating film for several reasons... none of which are the reasons the director intended.

The director apparently had the url for this movie painted on his car to help promote it... and spelled it wrong.

most disturbing thing about this film is that the director seems to genuinely believe that it's a great work of art...

"he missed the R from birdemic"

So that makes it bidemic? That must be a film about the shock and terror my husband gets when I place too many bids on eBay items.

Just wached a bit of that film - and to think I used to believe Ed Wood was the best bad film maker. This guy surpasses even that!

No. Ed Wood made sure the sound on his films didn't cut out at the start of every scene, his scripts kind of made sense. Technically his films almost worked (dodgy sets but the editing was competen, sound mix good etc).

This guy is the Nicky pacccione of film making...

It's painful to watch. the environmental message isn't layered on with a trowel, it's piured in from a bloody great concrete mixer...

Please, for the sake of your sanity, avoid this film. It makes Shark in Venice look well made.

Mr Probert will back me up on this one...

I can! Showing Plan 9 From Outer Space merely served to show how very poor Mr Nguyen's film-making skills are!

Oh, don't get me wrong - I *love* anything by Ed Wood. Plan 9 is in my top ten favourite films. But I wouldn't give Birdemic the time of day judging by this.
