I'll second the recommendation for Kathe Koja - one of the best horror writers I've encountered, gender aside.

Speaking of recommendations, my favourite female horror writer right now is Alison Littlewood.

Kathe Koja is indeed a great writer.

Strange Angels and The Cypher are two of my favorite books and her story in the ultimate werewolf anthology is one of the highlights.

I was asked for two recommendations out of many books I admire. I could have mentioned Lisa as Nest of Nightmares is indeed one of my favourite books (stories are included in the wonderful collections out by Ash Tree Press). I've interviewed her for the BFS Fantasycon programme/online Twisted Tales promo last month and chosen her work when asked etc but this time I placed an emphasis on a theme within both the works I chose for Sinescope.

Lisa Tuttle is one of our best writers. :>).
