What's the film where ralph Bates drowns his domineering mother in a bowl of cat's milk after she trains the cat to kill his baby by sitting on it's face? |

That would be 'Persecution' with Lana Turner, Weber. It was a late entry in the grand guignol suspense thriller cycle that Hammer excelled at in the 60s/early 70s. I think this might have been Amicus, though, or one of their rivals. |

Were you about to drown someone in a saucer of milk in one of your stories, Weber? |

I bet Weber is about to drown someone in a saucer of cat's milk in real life! Stevie - your film knowledge is incredible. That film rings a bell with me from somewhere in my deep and distant film-viewing past. Being a cat lover, I never really like films where they do nasty things to (or with) cats though ... |

But why were you even THINKING of that film, Weber?... There's no way out of this - just admit you were thinking of drowning poor old mom in the cat's milk saucer. Poor mom, and poor kitty. For shame! |

I was discussing old sitcoms and the topic veered a little. 2 whole points to the first person who can name the sitcom we were talking about that switched the topic this way... |

It's got cinema's greatest 'upskirt' moment (until Sharon Stone came along of course), when the young saucepot who Lana has hired starts teasing poor Ralph. |

>>2 whole points to the first person who can name the sitcom we were talking about that switched the topic this way...<< Well, if it's a sitcom where someone's pussy is mentioned on numerous occasions it must be Are You Being Served? |

OK, I'll try to get my points back (so I'll end up with no points whatsoever ). Ralph Bates starred in Dear John - was it that one? |

PERSECUTION was a Tyburn production, Stevie - their first of three (THE GHOUL & LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF were the other two). Paul- the young lady you're referring to is Olga Georges-Picot I think |

I love 'The Ghoul'! One of the most monstrously underrated British horror films of the 1970s, imo. 'Legend Of The Werewolf' is routinely entertaining but appears very poor in comparison to Hammer's 'Curse Of The Werewolf'. 'Persecution' is a very fine Hammer/Robert Aldrich grand guignol suspense imitation. It has a distinctive atmosphere all its own and was nice to see Lana Turner get a last blast of "stardom". |

Can anyone think of the Christmas movie these three clues relate to: 1. Always buy the right size of Christmas tree for your living room. 2. Keep your tree free of rodents. 3. You can choose your friends but not your family. |

People here in America adore the National Lampoon Christmas movie... me, never been a fan, of that or really any of the NL movies. I find them strangely depressing, and very unfunny.... |

Did anyone watch BARTON FINK? I saw it in the cinema when it first came out. Seems to be *the* film about creative writing. |
