Put together and presented by Jeremy Dyson, this should be fascinating. I'm pleased to report that the Landlord contributes... :-)
All the best

Yeah, I know. I just don't like using iplayer if I don't have to. But I have a crap memory for radio programmes -- I totally forgot about the Philip K Dick documentary that was on today.

Any way I can listen to this in Australia? Maybe it will be made available on their site, after broadcast?

It was good to hear Jenny talking about Robert Aickman, as well as Ramsey. The programme can be listened to again here:

Great documentary. Makes me want to read some Aickman. Btw, will the iplayer work in the US? I've a friend who would probably enjoy the programme.

Great radio show. It reminded me that mixing with you lot knowing what I'm talking about when I mention Aickman - does not mean that Aickman is someone I can start talking about willy nilly to anyone!

Stu - I don't think so, although there are ways around it, I believe.

A friend in the US has just listened to it on the iplayer so the answer, Stu, is yes!

In that case I stand corrected. I believe that wasn't the case until recently due to license and copyright reasons, although the restrictions could be circumvented by using VPNs and the like.

Brilliant! Thanks, Ray.

I just reread The Cicerones. I think I nearly understood it this time. (I'm bluffing; I have trouble understanding colouring books.)

I've just listened to it and was impressed. Jeremy Dyson did a really good job with this. Great to hear various opinions about Aickman, especially Ramsey's (and Jenny's) reminiscences. I hope it will help introduce him to new readers.

Did nobody else catch this? I wonder if it will encourage people unfamiliar with Aickman to seek out his work. I hope so.

Hey Huw - I listened to it this afternoon, really enjoyed it. I haven't read much Aickman, only four stories. I loved them and plan on working my way through the Tartarus reprints. Have you read all his collected short stories?

It felt odd seeing him 'come out into the light'. I wonder if listeners noticed?
A superb programme.

Lincoln, yes, I've read the stories. Listening to this programme made me want to fetch the collections from my bookshelves and start reacquainting myself with the tales. I'm rereading 'The Hospice' at the moment.

Tony, I hope the programme succeeded in finding some readers who will like his work (and who may not have encountered it otherwise).

I've said it before but I think it's almost criminal how overlooked he is. Shocking.
But odd; it's like I expect him to vanish now he's been brought into the public awareness, like he only existed in our (folk like us') minds.

I know it's more than a little late in the day but I just came across this while reading through old threads. Did anybody record this programme? I'd love to get a copy of it.

From the comments above Mick recorded it. Whether he still has it is a different matter.
