Good stuff.
I love the League, and definitely think that its horror is much more ingrained than the comedy.

Especially the utterly creepy Christmas Special. In fact, if you showed that to somebody who'd never heard of the League, I bet they would assume it was some artfully grotesque horror, perhaps with a wry twinkle in its eye, but certainly not the special of a show that previously had a laughter track.
(And getting rid of that after series 2 was a great move: it only used to mute that gorgeous sinister atmosphere)
