This looks like a real beauty - just wish I could afford it!

The Century's Best Horror - including Ramsey, of course.

...and our very own Joel Lane! Looks a very tasty set that. Hmmm...
Mind you, if I was to scout around a lot, I might find I already have a hell of a lot of those (he typed, hoping to put himself off wanting the books).

>>...and our very own Joel Lane!<<

I know. I noticed that and actually added Joel's name to the list of authors when I posted it as news on the BFS site - but I forgot to mention Joel here. Sorry, Joel! And very well done to you too.

No worries. I snuck into the book due to its 'one story per year, one story per author' rule, which made for a few lucky breaks. None the less the line-up contains many classics and fascinating rarities. Great to see this finally being printed. It waited several years for copyright clearance and the circulation of signing sheets. Definitely a landmark anthology.

Don't be so modest! Your story wouldn't be in there if it didn't deserve to be!

Another century's best?! Egad, I've read three so far (Mystery, Noir, and now just about finishing Suspense), plus the massive Horror sorta-one by Hartwell... I don't know if I can't take another one!

Congrats to Joel, and all others in it.

Hmm... I notice both Gary Brandner's "The Price of a Demon" and Eddy C. Bertin's "Like Two White Spiders" in it, though both were in the same DAW Year's Best Horror Anthology (vol. II). Wassup wit dat?!

Because the DAW volume II is selected from the second and third volumes of the original British series, Craig.
