Dear all,

Due to increasing work commitments, Glyn and I have decided that the PS Publishing Showcases at the end of this month will, sadly, be our last events. The blog will be active until then and Glyn will advertise horror story readings using the site, but to all other extents and purposes, Twisted Tales will be over. If you want to attend either event, then please write to twistedtalesevents@gmail.com, stating how many free tickets you would like to reserve.

Both Glyn and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making these events so successful, either by attending, reviewing or publicizing them. Most of all, we'd like to thank the authors who gave up their time and went to the expense of travelling up to participate. Your support made the whole thing possible.

We've made some good friends over the past 14 months and hope that you will stay in touch.

Very best wishes,

David

That's a real shame, David. I really enjoyed the event I took part in last year - and you and Glyn organised things brilliantly.

But please keep in touch - and hopefully I'll see you again at other events very soon.

Thanks Gary! I really enjoyed Twisted Tales of the Weird West, it was a great event. My academic and fictional writing focuses on the intersection of noir crime and Gothic horror, so I think we'll have lots to talk about in the coming years. Also, I'll have to let you know how I get on with the whole of Season 5 of Dexter (so far I love it, but Season 4 will be tough to beat). Have you seen Millennium, Chris Carter's other big series? It is absolutely superb and I'm going to write on it as part of my 'Psychopath' entry for the Ashgate Encyclopedia of Literary and Cinematic Monsters.

For authors who want to participate in events like the ones Glyn and I have run over the past 14 months, I've heard excellent things about what Michael Wilson is doing at This Is Horror:

Aww, sorry to hear that David, but I can fully understand work commitments having to take precedence. I've only had a hand in the organising of one event - I wasn't even organising it myself as it was part of a literary festival - but I know how much work these things can entail.

I only wish I'd been able to come to some of your events, but, alas, it wasn't to be.

I've only just discovered the This is Horror folk and subscribed to their blog so that I can keep up with what they're doing (and publicise their events on the BFS site). It's great to see people organising these kinds of events (there's nothing better than a live reading in my opinion), and perhaps you and Glyn might be able to resurrect Twisted Tales at some point.

Anyway, do keep coming here and talking to us on the RCMB! Best of luck to you both with your work (and study, by the sound of it).

Really sorry to hear this, David. At least it'll end on a high note...

Cheers Ramsey, Caroline and Simon. I am sad to end Twisted Tales as it has been tremendous fun, and I am very confident that we will go out on a high note. I want these events to be really well-attended because Ramsey, Pete and Paul have all been really supportive of our plans for the showcases (with a very generous competition to be announced next week). There are still plenty of tickets to be booked at twistedtalesevents@gmail.com.

Simon, it is a shame that we had to finish before our planned event together, but I wish you the very best of luck with The Faceless and hope your career goes from strength to strength.

I've just received the link to Chris Pak's review of 'The Killer Inside You: Horror in Crime Fiction' on Crimeculture (a Crime Studies website that receives around 5 million hits a year):

This was, without doubt, one of my very favourite events in a year packed with highlights. What were your favourite things (events, reviews, interviews, previews, etc) to come out of the Twisted Tales project? Or do you want to reserve judgement until February?
