'The Veteran.' Ignore the trite, laboured criticisms as flapped about in last year's The Guardian. Tobby Kebbell, who has since Dead Man's Shoes, and Rock N Rolla become one of the most exciting British actors to emerge in recent years, excels in a film that encompasses so much in just 90 minutes flat. The editor, Emma Gaffney, must be top of every director's list. Yes, the ending is guessable, but, such was the way in which it was delivered, predictability takes a back seat. IGNORE the idiotic trailer. Urban Britain come undone, the new order, conspiracy thriller, with shades of Heat, with tons of integrity. |

Basically, I'm saying it was a great film, and sadly will pass unnoticed. For all its faults, I'm convinced it deserves a wider audience. |
