I've realised I almost certainly won't get all the way down to Brighton for FCon again this year. I tried last year, but couldn't manage it. So I think I might as well make the decision now not to try it, so as not to be disappointed again. So .... I've been looking for alternatives. There is, of course, AltFiction in Leicester. I *may* have a go at getting to that one - but the thought of driving into Leicester city centre and trying to negotiate that, finding parking, etc, is a bit off-putting to me. And then there's this one: http://www.discoverfestival.co.uk/# Arranged by Alex Davis, who of course was the founder of AltFiction, this looks interesting. It's in a quiet enough place so as not to scare me when it comes to the driving! Anyone else here thinking of going to this? |

I'll be at alt.fiction but must remain undiscovered, alas. |

Aw, that's a shame, Ramsey. I'm still undecided about AltFiction, but I've just booked for that Discovery Festival. I'm probably odd (no comments, please!) but I prefer the out-of-town kind of venues. Just booking myself into a nearby farmhouse which boasts award-winning breakfasts ... *smacks lips* |

Argh!! Just realised what I said! When I said "that's a shame", I meant it was a shame you weren't going to Discovery, Ramsey; not that it was a shame you *were* going to AltFiction. Whoops! |
