I've had some kind words about mine already - I've never posted up work like this before but it's great not to have to wait for what is sometimes a year (or even never) to get a positive response.
These stories blend in a bit. Am I turning into Des?

Catch them quick!

I'll read them when I get a chance, Tony... but is there a way to change the formatting there? I don't know if it's just my computer, but the faint white type on pitch black background is rather unpleasant to my eyeballs.

I would like some kind of a black Times New Roman font or maybe a Palatino, just a tad larger, on a white background.

And a glass of chianti.

You've read it Craig - it used to be called Two Places at Once. :-)

Ah—you're right—that was a great story!

I have yet to read Des's then. But again, that font/background... it's just hard on my eyes... really, is there any way to change that?

Which browser are you using, Craig? There's usually a way to increase the point size and text colour.

The site doesn't belong to me or Tony but to the painter Ade Hodges, who once published small press SF/Horror magazines in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

I will try that, John. I use mostly Safari, though I occasionally use Firefox. Thanks.

Craig - copy, cut and paste, then change the font?
Is that daft?

Do people read things like this? Have stories become as substantial as air?

I've read both - and enjoyed both too!

Tony - your story is very haunting. I loved it! Funny you should ask above "Am I turning into Des?" - your story is very DFL-like.

As to Des' story, I'm sure I've read another version of "Woodland Without Trees" a few years ago - perhaps in the Vault of Evil when they had the "Workshop of Filthy Creations"? Loved it too. Only Des could sneak himself, as the writer, into a story!

But I have a similar problem with the background and font colour on that site. It would certainly put me off visiting it again, so I reckon the owner needs to do something about that. Also, where is the home page for the site? I couldn't find any info at all.

Thanks, Caroline. Yes, I recall that THE WORKSHOP OF FILTHY CREATIONS (a quote from Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein') was a sort of writer's workshop. So a WOODLAND WITHOUT TREES may have started life there?

I think it did, Des - and I think there were three or four versions, if I recall correctly?

Thanks Caroline - it means more than you know hearing that.
