Indeed, interesting (much more than, say, the title of this thread ).

Again, I think there's either a missing chapter or something from Wuthering Heights, where it's revealed explicitly that Heathcliff and Cathy are half-siblings—and hence why their love is doomed. (I mean, their father drags Heathcliff back from his usual extended jaunts in the city, to live with them? With some lame excuse about Heatcliff being abandoned on the streets? Uh... riiiiight....) It was either Emily's original choice, or sister Charlotte's editorial hand after sister Emily died; either way, by avoiding this hackneyed device that surely would have forever lamed the novel, the result is one of the weirdest (and best!) novel of the 19th Century....
