Just wondering if anyone else is watching this? It's been on Sky One (or Atlantic, I can never remember) for the last three weeks. It's a show about a charismatic Poe-obsessed serial killer (James Purefoy) who's created a cult of acolytes while in prison to carry out his revenge on the man who caught him (Kevin Bacon). It does play to the "serial killer as hypercompetent supervillain" cliche a bit but I'm enjoying it so far. The end of episode 3 in particular was quite chilling. |

The show is absurd on so many levels. But one of the problems I'm having suspending disbelief is, weirdly, the recent news of our local (and now probably late) madman Christopher Dorner—the resources law enforcement put into place to find and capture him makes what goes on in "The Following" seem silly, unreal, rinky-dink. So it's hard to believe they'd send one police officer to escort that wife home in Ep. 3—let alone, even let her go! I mean, come on... EVERYONE could see she was one of them! (Those who are watching the show, will know what I mean with all this.) That being said... I'm entertained, so what the hell, I'll keep watching. |

Yeah, it's not one to take too seriously. I also hope there's a resolution planned for it too, it's not the kind of show I can see getting stretched out for multiple seasons. |
