I just got linked to this really good column about doing creative/artistic things by a concert pianist. Worth a read, especially if real life is overwhelming your creativity at the moment.

I'd guess "kill you" is just a snappier way of saying "take over your life".

Besides, I'm not sure I want to be responsible for Keira Knightley spending the rest of her life in prison :-(
