While looking for the original 1960s version of the nuclear accident thriller "Failsafe" I stumbled on a 2000 remake featuring George Clooney, James Cornwall, Richard Dreyfuss and Brian Deheney. It is a live television production, and was transmit in misty black and white that makes it look exactly like a TV programme of the 60s. it is absolutely, brutally fantastic. The original movie is a classic, Terry! Haven't seen it in many years but it always stayed with me. As much as 'Dr Strangelove', if not more so, to be honest. |
