Thank you Simon, hope all is well with you, too. Bit of a tangent, but I really like the site/zine, it's quite detailed and professional. Have you ever considered doing a writing contest? These are common in the screenplay world, but I feel like horror needs one (? - are there any?). The kind where you pay a fee to enter, could be pro or amateur both allowed - because you enter a manuscript sans personal information, so no one knows who's written what. An initial round of judges winnows down the pile to a set of finalists, that's then judged by a select panel of luminaries in the field. The winners could be published in a book, etc. Does this already exist out there somewhere? If not... why not? | ||

I think there are such contests, yes, although I can't remember whether This Is Horror has done any of them itself! But yeah, they do a great job - I think they're one of the best horror sites in the UK. | ||

I feel like such contests, Simon, would be a way of sifting through the huge amounts of material out there, discovering real gems of both author and content... frankly making it easier for picky and unsure readers like myself.... | ||

Hey, I thought everybody had migrated to facebook, but here (many of) you still are! Simon, I apologize profusely for appearing to hijack your thread but I've totally forgotten how to start one and figured that seeing as you're married to a scouser you might forgive me!
