While it's not my kind of ending I thought Ghosts Stories one of the best horror films I've ever seen. One of the few films about ghosts to actually conjure the fear of...ghosts. |

I really said this? Maybe it was of the cinema experience. A second tv watch left me feeling quite flat.
Without trying to spoil it, I really am not a fan of the kind of ending it was. It sort of leaves you feeling it was pointless. |

I haven't seen it, but I did see A GHOST STORY. I liked it a lot, but still have to see where it settles for me. |

Ah, just looked it up. Any good? Reminds me of an idea I tried to write about a ghost trapped in a house that gets demolished and has to move on. I could never quite get a handle on it. |

If I was a ghost I wouldn't move onto the afterlife. I'd genuinely go round scaring assholes as best I could, or moping in a massive library. Pretty much like this.
In fact, why AREN'T ghosts attacking the bad people in the world? Have I just explained ghosts away?
Heard a thing on Radio Four today about a woman who got sick of being depressed and started living in a van, travelling round between jobs. It sounded lovely. But she started dropping out of social media because she said she had nothing more to say, and started losing touch with family. Sometimes we ARE ghosts, or are happy being like them.
(Another show I heard was about a policewoman who got obsessed with a woman found dead in the sea who they couldn't trace the relatives of at all. Ended with a huge funeral for the dead woman. It was very moving.)
Did you ever see that film about the woman found dead in a flat? Had lain there for two years? That was distressing, too. |
