JULIE FELIX SAYS

" WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER. GIVE PEACE A CHANCE"

War is ugly. War is cruel. War claims the lives of thousands of innocent children and leaves in its wake broken dreams and broken lives including those of thousands of refugees. It deals devastating blows to Mother earth causing ecological disaster. It leaves deadly poisons in the soil and in the lungs of both soldiers and civilians.

When the Bush Administration unveiled its plan to begin war in Iraq, millions of people protested. In more than 2000 cities all over the globe the conscience of humanity was expressed. On the 15th of February, a huge worldwide peace movement was born. Despite this unprecedented outcry, and without the approval of the United nations, with the disapproval of the archbishop of canterbury and the Pope, America and Britain invaded Iraq; and the lethal bombs were dropped by the thousands. On the 20th of March 2003, many of us felt that democracy had died.

We couldn't stop the war, but still there is a growing multitude of world citizens who believe in the strength of the human spirit - who believe that might does not make right.
Yoko Ono said, "If you dream a dream alone, it is just a dream; if you dream the dream together, it is reality."
Nicole Kidman, when receiving her Oscar, said "Art is important."

And so, we come together to give peace a chance, to dream the dream of a world free from war and to add our light to the flame of hope that lives in every human heart.

There is music in the air
It's a song we all can share
The dream has finally had its birth
The dream of peace right here on earth.

Thank you for sharing the dream

"You see these folks are working with space,
Some smile with their hearts as well as their face"
from the song "Sappho"
from the album "Bright Shadows"

Welcome to this "cyber" space. It is an amazing realization to know that we, you and I, are communicating by vibrations. The messages transmitted on this web are interesting examples of how thought creates reality and how everything establishes its identity by means of vibration.

I would like to take this opportunity to explain the dual faceted nature of this site. I suppose this is not surprising since I am born under the zodiac sign of Gemini.

Music has always been an integral part of my life. Like breathing, it happens whether I am thinking about it or not. When I came into this world, my father was a working musician. In our home, he would often be playing the piano, the guitar, or the accordion. I remember falling asleep listening to him rehearse with Freddie who played guitar, Nieto on bass, while my dad played the accordion. They played and sang Mariachi music into the small hours of the morning.

Every Sunday I would go to Catholic church and be mesmerized by the smell of incense and the voice of Father Konoski singing mass in Latin. I was later to leave the church, but awareness of my spiritual nature has always been as much a part of my life as has music.

These two sides of me are reflected in this domain. It is as though I am a river. On one side of the river is the music area, and on the other is the spiritual. It is the same ground; the same landscape. Some of you know me from the side that banks onto the music: those of you who know me from the recordings, the TV appearances and the concerts. Others of you know me from the other side: from the sacred journeys, the workshops, and the Goddess tours.

Whether your orientation to my river is from one side or the other, I thank you for traveling with me. It is the interaction with you that helps shape this river and establish its course.

A camera is a poor substitute for the human eye. The microphone is a poor substitute for the human ear, and the web a poor example of how the cosmic net of consciousness joins us all up together with the rest of the universe. But the camera can capture beautiful images. The microphone can carry songs and sounds to the ears and hearts of thousands and the Internet can be a vehicle by which we can share space, create realities, and get on the same wave length.

"each scientific discovery
each supernatural mystery
they're all the same to my electric angel"
from the song "My Electric Angel"
from the album "Lightning"

Thank you for joining me on this adventure into cyber space where all rivers may meet on our way back home.
Blessings, "River Phelix".....aka Julie Felix
