The Orcs Domain
|
Following the success of my Orcs: First Blood trilogy, which has sold around a million copies worldwide to date, I’m currently writing a sequel trilogy entitled Orcs: Bad Blood. The first volume of the new trilogy, Weapons of Magical Destruction, is due for UK publication by Gollancz in Autumn 2008. At time of writing I don’t have a finished cover, but over on the right is a provisional version (which for convenience uses the title of the first volume of the original trilogy). Orcs: Bad Blood is published in Germany by Heyne. The first volume, with a title that roughly translates as Blood Revenge, appeared in December 2007 and reprinted in January 2008. Here’s the cover: |

Due to some quirk, Timun Mas published only the first volume of the trilogy, in May 2000. But another Spanish publisher, EDHASA, will be issuing the entire trilogy on a date to be announced.

The SFBC published the trilogy as individual volumes, then, in November 2002, issued this omnibus edition:

THE TAKING

I’ve always intended writing a series of Orcs short stories based on the characters in the trilogies. So far, I’ve managed only one - The Taking. It originally appeared in the anthology Swords Against the Millennium, edited by Mike Chinn (Alchemy Press/Saladoth Productions; September 2000).
The Taking was short-listed for the 2001 British Fantasy Award, and has since been reprinted in a number of magazines and anthologies worldwide (see Bibliography for full listing). These include …
