I've never heard of either before coming across them - I wonder if anyone else is familiar with...? 1) At my local library, they had a dvd set called "Time For Murder," a British production, which are 6 short films by (at the time, mid-80's) top British mystery writers - anyone ever heard of this series? I picked it up, looks good by the box, but I don't want to waste my time watching these if they suck - any good ones in the bunch? 2) Me mum taped a movie off TV for me called THE EVICTORS (1979). I imdb-ed it, and don't want to read the synopsis (like to know as little as possible), but it sounds pretty good - directed by Charles B. Pierce, who did THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN and other horror flicks - the reviewer here gave it 9 out of 10 stars, and said it was "perhaps the most obscure movie of [Pierce's] entire bunch... an impressively tense and slow-brooding 'haunted-house' type of chiller with a twist...." Anyone seen/thoughts? |

I'll answer myself on one of these - THE EVICTORS. Execrable: even SUSPIRIA's Jessica Harper can't save this one. They don't get much worse than this... and I mean, not even entertainingly bad.... |

The name of this thread is so much more evocative than the thread itself. I was thinking of disembodied but still living eyes... |
