Wandered up ot the picturs last night and bought a ticket ot see "Apollo 18" even though every review of it is bad. And do you know, I actually enjoyed it. So what do reviewers know eh? Okay, it isn't the best film in the world and "Alien" pretty well cleared up on the space claustrophobia ten little indians genre but "Apollo 18" works nonetheless. Give it a look. Cheers Terry |

Hi Terry Kate and I saw it yesterday and we really liked it. Only afterwards did we read the reviews and were as surprised as you. I thought it was the best way you could do a 'found footage in space' horror movie, and if you want to look for them there may even be hints of MR James, Machen and Hope Hodgson in there, although for me it was most like a Robert Bloch Weird Tales story. Certainly recommended to members of this board who like their terror slow-building and atmospheric (before you jump right out of your seat). |

I'd sooner trust you guys then any current newspaper reviewer. I'm sure the guy who called The Devil's Rock 'Saw with Swastikas' hadn't even watched the film. |

I'm sure the guy who called The Devil's Rock 'Saw with Swastikas' hadn't even watched the film. I often wonder if the less trustworthy reviewers think up the catchiest phrase they can then write the review to suit the phrase rather than the film. |

Interesting comaparisons John. There was a definite M R James feel in the ambiguity of the monsters themselves. Unbelievably, some reviewers said things to the effect that "it's obvious that this isn't real footage"...I mean, like duh. Of course it's real. it's a conspiracy innit. CheerS Terry |

Dude, like everyone knows it's real. Just go to LunarTruth.com. Well, you could if NASA hadn't shut it down cos like, it was telling the truth and stuff? And like, it was too scary for people to accept. Hey. The truth is out there, man. |

Might pop along and watch this tonight. Sounds intriguing. In the meantime anyone who enjoys a good weep at the flicks should go see 'Project Nim'. I'm still too emotionally scarred by last night's cinema excursion to pour out my usual instinctive review. This one is gonna take some thought. 'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' can go fuck itself! |

Just back from it. An unexpectedly excellent, really well done, tense and scary wee horror/sci-fi movie. Bit of a minor classic, imo. Off to bed now with more articulate thoughts to follow tomo. |

John, Glen Beck is an uber-righ-wing conservative commentator here in the States - I just assumed by now he was world famous (notorious?). Him raving about APOLLO 18, in which he said it was the best film of it's kind since ALIEN, was to me like, oh... hmm... Thomas Carlyle raving about Varney the Vampire?... |
