Looks creepy: I love Aronofsky's work so far. Does it have anything to do with the "black swan" - what would you call it, theory? Concept? Model? I think it originated in economics, I'm not sure, but it's fascinating. Says that every now and then you will encounter a black swan, which stands in stark reality-contrast to the world of white swans - and it is the moment your sanity bends because it defies all reality you've know so far, but it's real, it's there, right in front of you, and you must quantify it or die. In fact, death itself is the ultimate "black swan" - the final illogical anti-reality to all our known realities.... |

I doubt it, Craig. It's a fairly straightforward ballet-inspired psychohorror. Look up the plot of "Swan Lake" and it will make sense. |

At least it's not a film version of Naomi Campbell's "novel" of a few years back. On the other hand, sadly it's not a remake of 'The Black Swan' - the 1942 pirate movie with Tyrone Power. I now have an image of ballerinas going Arrrrr! in my head but I am a bit tired today. |

Just saw this trailer for CASE 39 at Nikki Finke's... I'm pretty sure this preview here is going to be better than the movie will be... but hell, I did greatly enjoy this trailer!... http://www.deadline.com/2010/08/hot-trailer-case-39/ |

Craig - Case 39 was shown at FrightFest last year & was released here in the UK last March. Reviews were uniformly awful! |
