It's a mile south of Whitby, Ramsey. Just behind the Abbey. A beautiful, mysterious and frightening place. As soon as I visited, I thought, "I'm having that!" Fans of The Willows will, I hope, like this novella. |

I still haven't read 'The Willows' and wonder when on earth they're going to bring out a definitive "best of" collection of Blackwood at an affordable price (are you listening Wordsworth?) That place looks wonderful, Gary, and I'm sure the book is as well. |

Looks creepy, and professional, that video.... What did you make that on, Gary? What program did you use, if I may ask? |

It's pretty good. With a bit of imagination and ingenuity, it can produced decent results. You can even do voice overs . . . but my Yorkshire accent is as about as creepy as a bowl of porridge. |

A bowl of porridge that's left the bowl and is slithering slimily across the table to smother you in your sleep. |

The last one I was learning wasn't that smooth; it was Final Cut Express, 4.0... I think that was almost two years ago?... that long ago compared to what's advanced, I'm sure, might as well be like comparing abacuses to calculators, in the world of tech.... Maybe you can turn that idea into a full-blown bizarro novel, Weber. |

I'd call this definitive and affordable, Stevie. http://www.amazon.com/Best-Ghost-Stories-Algernon-Blackwood/dp/0486229777 |

Wordsworth can't do a cheapo Blackwood because he's not out of copyright. He lived from 1869 to 1951 and survived the destruction of his house in the Blitz, as well as many previous hazards in Europe, Canada and the USA. It's conceivable that he had a few spells up his sleeve. |

Ah, that explains it. Thanks, Joel & Ramsey. That is very cheap! The old guy did appear to have something of the black adept about him. I wonder if he ever partied with Dennis Wheatley or Montague Summers... or even <gulp> AC himself?! |

The story idea I mentioned earlier in this thread - I'm going to expand it to include killer fruit and call it Straw Berries... |
