I have no idea if this was mentioned on here before, but if not I'd heartily recommend it to anybody hankering after a movie whose mentality is very reminiscent of The Evil Dead. Great cinematography, production, excellent direction, ridiculous special effects which make the movie all that more enjoyable. And it has one or two narrative aces up its sleeves in regards to character life expectancy.

There are two sequels, of which I've seen neither. But on the basis of this great little movie I'll be seeing them as soon as possible.

Don't watch too much of the movie as it shows too much.

I think the Feast movies are pretty terrible as a whole, mate. The first one is watchable, with a few entertaining (if wildly derivative) scenes, but the sequels are utter dog turds.

Wasn't the first FEAST a product of Matt Damon/Ben Affleck's short-lived (and a "The Apprentice"-rip-off) "Project Greenlight" TV series?

Yep, that's the one, Craig...it's pretty lame. Tries very hard to be a cult movie but falls a bit flat, IMHO.

Ah. Thanks, Zed. I shall continue to avoid it, then. Hell, there's so much I KNOW is great, I've not gotten to yet....

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel too, Craig (says the man who plans to rewatch Nightmares in a Damaged Brain this evening).

Not seen the 'dog turds' but I'll still give them a watch. I thought FEAST being derivative was no more than any number of the last 1000000000 horror movies made in the last ten years. I guess it takes all sorts to like all sorts.

(I'm still reeling from the masterpiece I saw at the cinema today. DRIVE. The director of Bronson and Valhalla Rising has made what I would call probably the greatest film noir of the last twenty years. I will post about it tomorrow as I have to get my head straight after seeing it. I just wish some of the reviews wouldn't keep going on about the explicit realistic violence 'taking the viewer out of the film.')

I've been waiting impatiently to see Drive for months, Frank - I love Nicolas Winding Refn's other films, and James Sallis' novel (which I've just read) is exquisite.
