Inspired by the recent admission by leicester city council that they are less than prepared in the case of a zombie invasion when they were requested in a freedom of information request, I've decided to send a few of my own. I've sent Salfrd Council, Salford PCT and Salford royal NHS trust a request to find out how well prepared they are for the forthcoming spate of shark attacks which will happen when global warming forces the Great White sharks to migrate to the Manchester ship Canal. As anyone who's watched Shark in Venice will tell you, there's not much that's more dangerous than sharks in urban waterways... | ||

I got my response from SRFT already. Salford PCT and Salford council haven't even acknowledged receipt yet... Answer A shark attack would be classified as major trauma. SRFT’s Accident & Emergency Dept is used to treating these types of patients and would therefore class this as business as usual although the causative nature of the trauma would be quite different from what usually presents. There would be no requirement to set up a specialised unit. |
