Awwwww. You *knew* you'd get me with that blog post, didn't you Thomas?  Funny, my husband has a similar effect on cats - we put it down to his soft Irish accent (plus the fact that he's a big softie and probably smells right to them too). A friend recently got a new kitten from the cat rescue. She was having trouble with him as he seems a bit "hyper", always into everything (more so than you'd expect even from a kitten his age). When we went to visit, within 5 minutes he was curled up on my husband's lap like he was the most docile creature who'd ever walked the Earth. Said friend had never seen him so settled! I've also seen my husband walking along the street with a string of local cats, tails up, all following him like he was some kind of Pied Piper. And now our own two cats - mum and daughter - have started fighting over who gets to sit on his lap every evening ... | ||

Thanks, Caroline. I bet the voice has a lot to do with it. And knowing where they like to be scratched (the center spot, just behind the skull works best). Clearly, your husband is truly an Alpha Cat, albeit, one with two legs! |
