"Melancholia" - Brilliant. Just watched it and, like "Never Let Me Go" this is slipstream sf perfectly adapted for screen. And so utterly devestatingly sad. Cheers Terry |

A copy of this is on it's way to me now (I love Lars Von Trier)...And 'Drive' arrived this morning, too. |

Was really sorry to miss this in the cinema last year. If it's anything like as great as 'Antichrist' (or 'Never Let Me Go') it must be very fine indeed. Lars Von Trier seems to be at the peak of his powers these days, doesn't he? |

Personally I think Dogville - a truly astonishing film - saw him at the peak of his powers, but his recent stuff has still been excellent. |

Stevie - he didn't do Never Let Me Go. Melancholia, Kill List, and Tree of Life are all under £8 in the supermarkets. |

I know, Tony, that's why I put it in brackets. It was Terry compared 'Melancholia' to 'Never Let Me Go' which, you may recall, won the Stevie Award for Best Sci-Fi Movie of 2011. |

Saw this over the weekend, along with ANTICHRIST- both, in their very different ways, stunning. |

I seem to be the only one to be underwhelmed by Melancholia. |

No, Huw, you're not the only one who was underwhelmed. I thought there was some superb acting in it, but the movie itself did little for me. I could have spent a couple of hours more productively. |
