Brian Wilde (Foggy in Last Of The Summer Wine...But possibly more importantly Mr.Barraclough in the brilliant Porridge) has died aged 80-odd.
Also, the fine actor Paul Scofield...Not easy to place in films but always a good performance...Check out his picture - you will recognise him.

Thanks for posting that GCW. I saw Paul Scofield in Man for all Seasons ages ago and really liked it.
Thinking of the name Barraclough - for some reason, who knows why, it reminded me of the name Granville as a first name - don't know why but when ever the Christian name Granville is called out in my doctor's surgery, I try not to laugh out loud. Even more so when it is before Rowbottom. These Yorkshire names are precious. |
