Anyone fancy hiring a huge farmhouse miles from anywhere for a few days, spending the nights reading horror and watching horror movies, and writing stuff through the day? It'd be easy to arrange, you know. And I do mean it. |

We were at a huge place in the middle of nowhere - in Yorkshire - today and it cost £800 a week; slept twelve. I reckon if we donated what we could we could do something, maybe get somewhere cheaper. I think it would be awesome. This place had a crackly fire and furniture that was literally hundreds of years old. |

Crackling fire, antique furniture... sounds like paradise to me, Tony. Imagine watching old Val Lewton films in a house like that, and reading ghost stories by candlelight. If I wasn't so far away, I'd definitely be interested... |

Seems those who can't, want to, and anyone else just ain't saying! I wonder why people don't want something so spectactular, yet simple? Money, as Ally suggests? |

It is great of you Tony and I really, really want to do it but my debts won't allow. I can't stay overnight at Alt.Fict in Derby and I can't send a cheque for the hotel etc for BFSCon Sept. I think I've slumped - did too much last year and now paying for it. |

You should hire out Ramsey Campbell, Tony. Have him do readings in your front room. Shucks, I'm only foolin'. |

I'd totally be into it. I don't have money either, but I'd like to believe there'd be a way to make it happen. I'm in LA right now. Not sure how that happened. Living on couches and shaking my head a lot. This town weirds me out. I'd WAY rather be in a farmhouse in England Tony. Any day of the week. |

If I ever raise the money I'll pay for it and just invite everyone. When I saw this place it was just so magnificent, so atmospheric. But the a raint caravan would be equally lovely, with a little portable rigged up for the movies. And I can get that for £50 a weekend, at Whitley Bay. Why you there, A? Oh, Lisey's Story took a slump. It was good - GREAT - but then it went all Exorcisty. I'll stick with it, though, and keep you posted. You ever wish you had clones of yourself, with all your hang ups and feelings? Would you get along? Would you run with them to these cottages or caravans? Maybe not clones, but something. |

I'm here co-writing a feature, actually. My partner's been here for awhile, and as a result we lost the month of March as writing time - so I agreed to come here to work for April. We're thinking of pitching a new show while we're here, so also working on that. |

When you are all retired you should all live together in a spooky home. Ramsey can haunt you with strange puddles and such. "Damn it! Ramsey's ghost shit in my bed again!" "And in my pants!" |
