Today I was shopping in Sainsbury's and the checkout lady was so impressed with the price of the dishwasher tablets I'd bought she sent me back to the shelves to get her a packet (for her to buy later) in case they ran out. And I did. I'll do anyone a favour. |

A poem about truth masquerading as a poem. It was almost my entry-qualification for Heaven. Checking in... |

The thing you don't know is that she left the shop without paying for them and you're now a wanted felon for aiding and abetting a shoplifter. Sorry Des. |

Yes, I did think of that, but when I returned with them, she showed them to a supervisor who, in my hearing, offered to put them through the till .... Good poems ever have an inner conscience. |

Great poem, Craig, Most impressed. Appropriate to leave those bad bits out. Weber waas right to raise them, however, as their possibility did cross my mind mind at one stage,. Essentially a poem is about itself, its inner core - and you have distilled it brilliantly with a dependable and spiritual (?) instinct ... from my point of view. |
