Does anyone know how to do a global search-and-replace in a document to change single quotes to double quotes - without also changing the apostrophes? |

Do two search and replaces. One with a space before the ' and one with a space after the '. Assuming all of the apostrophes are in the middle of words, it should sort the problem. If it doesn't, there's always the undo button at the top to repair the damage. |

But that won't catch the ' at the start of a line. Damn You could try a general switch ' for " and then a wildcard to pick out any where a " is sandwiched between two letters. Alternatively, don't do it automatic, do a find replace but have it walk you through and skip the ones that don't need to change... |

Sorry, those should have been single quotes, rather than doubles, so ^p' and '^p |

You highlight and copy the left quote marks, then paste it in the search window, then change all, then do the same for the right quote marks. My guess. |

I did it manually once and the thought of doing it again filled me with horror. And not the good kind. So thanks for saving my sanity - one of those is bound to work! |
