The whole of my lifetime work with Elizabeth Bowen Quotes are now in a book form. You will not be able to believe the power of these 250 pages of extracts!
Plus some of my Real-Time Reviews in the same book.

Looking at those has made we want to read again some of Bowen's stories. Good work, Des.

The Cat Jumps has just arrived in my mail, and already it looks like perfect prose, exactly, exactly my cup of tea.
(I just got the curious gagging feeling I get in my throat when reading/writing good things; a strange but sure sign of quality (he says). I'd be pleased if someone could tell me what it is...)
Des - I got a book by Susan Hill last week. In it she says Bowen is all she could ever hope to be as a writer.

'The Cat Jumps' is one of the most original, and strangely disturbing haunted house stories I can recall reading. One that really sticks in the mind and defies all the conventions of the form while providing no easy answers. Yes, Tony, she is a great writer, going by my limited experience of her - only read a handful of really excellent short stories.
