The person from the report is right, nobody should be left alone like this. Very sad. Terrible. R.I.P. |

That's so sad. How on earth can someone lay dead in their home for about a year without anyone noticing she was missing or thinking there was something strange? Just awful. |

R.I.P. That makes me think back of a bunch of Lady Actors whose names are forever bound to old horror/sci-fi titles: Anne Francis (Forbidden Planet), Nancy Gates (World Without End), Mara Corday (Tarantula), Faith Domergue (It Came from Beneath the Sea), Myrna Fahey (House of Usher), Gloria Talbott (The Daughter of Dr Jekyll), Beverly Garland (Crocodile Men)...who else? (I'm omitting Barbara Steele in that imho she is The Real One Queen of Cinematic Horror, not simply a Scream Queen.) |

Very sad- this shouldn't be how anybody ends up- but unfortunately not unique. There was a similar case in Australia, if I remember correctly, that inspired the Eric Bogle song 'A Reason For It All'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HGuqz_lUow |

It happens all the time. Last year in Antwerp a gentleman of Cambodian (I believe) descent was discovered in his appartment. He'd been dead for at least one year. People in the building complained about a foul odour at one point, but after a while it subsided, so no-one went out to investigate. He'd fallen out of his bed and died. Left a huge stain on the floorboards which proved impossible to get away. |

Fortean Times is always full of sad stories like this. I remember several cases where a family member lay dead in their room for months without any of the others thinking to check - we didn't like to disturb him/her. Then there was that office worker who died at his desk and none of his co-workers noticed for a full week - thinking he was just being conscientious! |
