Hey Everyone: Hope you're having a good week. This time, I've written about my favorite screen Dracula, Bela Lugosi: http://tbdeluxe.blogspot.com/2011/08/great-film-draculas-bela-greatest.html I'm sure anyone here who likes Dracula has their own favorite. I recall Ramsey saying Sir Christopher Lee was his in "The Encyclopedia of Horror and the Supernatural": . . . but I'll be praising him next time. ALSO: "Dragon's Ark" has received its first 5-star on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0615385478/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=130 1872048&sr=1-5&condition=new): if you read it and liked it, too, don't be shy! And thanks! Thomas |

Good article Thomas. I'd love to see the DVD version with the Philip Glass score. I didn't know about that. I generally prefer the ghastly plague draculas overall, but I'm a huge fan of Lee. That voice. |

I saw the Glass version at the Royal Festival Hall some years ago, with the film projected on a muslin screen, and the Kronos Quartet playing the music live, conducted by Glass himself. We thought it was very effective and quite subtle for the most part. I have a CD of the music, although that's a little "bitty" as all the pieces are rather short. |

Thanks Matt & All: The Glass score does help a lot, esp.in the middle portions. It is remarkably subtle and rightfully so. |
