I hope this isn’t rubbing salt in any wound (is is very thoughtless the way us writers crow about success), but I was idly flicking through the FutureFire review section (I should be slaving over a hot text book but I do get so distracted sometimes) and found this review of my novel "Axe". It actually brought a lump to my throat. I have never ever been given a review like this and for it to be for this particular book is overwhelming. "Axe" may be a head-down horror story but it is the first one I ever wrote and even though it took 23 years to finish, it is something straight out of my soul which I don’t really understand myself. Congrats, Terry. That sounds great! The theme puts me in mind of one of my best reads of last year, 'The Doubleman' (1985), by Australian author, C.J. Koch. It too is set in the world of rock 'n' roll (in the 50s-60s) and plays with the supernatural Faustian pact idea, while really being about friendship, passion, ambition, betrayal, redemption and the ultimate price of success. I think you'd get a lot out of it. | ||

Thanks for your help with the iPad, Mick. One more question. Is there any way of dragging the Apps icons between home screen pages? If you know what I mean? I'd like to get all the Apps of each particular kind on their own page. | ||

Hi Stevie - yep, just tap and hold any icon, then they'll all start wiggling. Once they're doing that you can move any icon to any screen by dragging an icon to the left or right edge then waiting a moment until the scree scrolls across. Also, if you drop one icon on top of another you can create folders. Another thing to note, if you find your iPad running a little bit sluggishly, double-click the 'home' button and you'll get a list of running apps at the bottom; if you then tap and hold one you'll get little crosses on the top left corner of each, and if you tap those crosses it'll shut each app down. | ||

And thanks for your kind words Mick. Much appreciated. The next novel...Battling to finish my half of a new electrical installation text book at the moment, due to be finished by the end of March. Then I'll throw myself back to writing fiction like a kid in a sweet shop. Oh, almost forgot, Spectral will be releasing my long short story "Soul Masque" in June. Sorry, enough about me.
