Watched 'Death Watch' last night - a very effective supernatural thriller about a group of lost British soldiers (WW 1) who come across a German trench system. Lots of mud, rain and corpses! Low budget, but doesn't really suffer because of this. Anyone else seen it? |

Yeah, it was pretty decent, I thought. Saw it a while ago, a good few months before you, Lincoln. You should be ashamed. And don't start claiming being on the other side of the world from the makers as an excuse. Tsk! |

I thought the film had its moments, but would've liked it to have a little more, I dunno...vavoom? I'd stick it in the "not bad" category. |

It was okay... but, like The Bunker and Outpost, nothing really special. I'm still waiting for someone to do this theme justice. |

mmm...interesting. I was going to say you were a bunch of fussy buggers - then I remembered that most of you rated 'The Mist' and 'Cloverfield' rather highly |

Just because you live darn unda, don't think you're immune to a good smacking, mate. I'll set Weber on ya. He can do that slow fighting like in The Matrix. |

Hey, Lincoln, at least people are posting in your thread - my poor turtles thread looks like it's set to be the 'least posted on' thread in RCMB history! |

Excuse me? you've not paid for the last time you wanted me to sort someone out yet!!! As it happens, I am training for a brown belt in Ju jitsu at the moment (not right at this moment obviously, it's difficult to type and throw someone six feet across a room at the same time). As i spotted last time I watched the matrix - Ju jitsu is the first martial art Neo learns. I also have a tendency to wear long black leather jackets but this is honestly a complete coincidence. |

I was quite disappointed with this movie. And I agree with Huw that this subject hasn't been given the treatment it deserves. Of Outpost, The Bunker and Deathwatch, I found 'The Bunker' the best of the lot. Good little movies, but somehow not what they could have been. Weber - how are you at breaking inanimate piece of wood? A totally pointless exercise (unless one is set upon by an attacker bearing a piece of driftwood), but fucking ace to watch. I reserve the right to use fuck as demonstrated on the thread regarding grammar. BTW - I did Judo for five years but found it nigh impossible to get any attackers to stand still for more than five seconds so I could adopt the required stance or move. |

OK, I have the following films on my hard drive, ready to burn to DVD - which one/s should I watch first? (I haven't seen any of these before) 'Suspiria' 'Inferno' 'The Abandoned' 'Inland Empire' 'The Haunting'(1963) 'The Eye'(original) |

Gosh, you're spoiled for choice there, Lincoln. Of the two Argentos, I would watch Suspiria first, although it's not strictly necessary. The Haunting is good haunted house fare, and The Eye is eerily effective for the most part. I was somewhat disappointed with The Abandoned, which I found unnecessarily convoluted, but it did have some nice, creepy touches. I haven't seen Lynch's film yet, but I suspect that it will not disappoint, if you're in the mood for something weird. |

Lynch's feels like a marathon at times ... or rather a nightmare than you just can't wake up from. It's so bloody long! Rewarding by the time it's done, but you ought to be prepared for a long horrible (in a good way) journey. |

'The Haunting'(1963) 'The Abandoned' 'The Eye'(original) 'Suspiria' 'Inferno' 'Inland Empire' (save the longest and weirdest till last!) |
