Does anybody remember reading any of JOHN BLACKBURN's novels? (such as NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT", FOR FEAR OF LITTLE MEN, BURY HIM DARKLY, A SCENT of NEW-MOWN HAY...)
I liked him at the time, more than a score years ago. I don't know, maybe he's deserving some revival.
And what about the still active EDDY C. BERTIN?
There are tales of his now and then in some anthologies. He looks great to me but the problem is he's translated from Dutch or Belgian, so he's very seldom represented. I know of books by him titled, in their hypothetical English translation, THE HOUSE WANTS BLOOD, WITCHCRAFT AT MIDNIGHT and especially THE MOST GRUESOME STORIES of EDDY C. BERTIN.
I'm vainly expecting some press to take this Author into account for translating and publishing at last, albeit it would not be his original writing...translator equals taitor, you know. Anyway, I'd love to see him published in English. Ash-Tree, PS and Tartarus presses, for instance, are not averse to non-UK Authors, though translating would add to the cost.
Well, just dreaming....

ooops...please read my "non-UK Authors", at the end of my post, as "non-English writing Authors". I was letting US Authors slip by...and whoever can write English at that.
