... because it's based on a "short story" - which is rare to the point of being unheard of, especially in horror, unless maybe you're Stephen King. I'm so out of it - who is China? Where did this story appear?...

China Mieville is a well-known writer - not just horror, but also fantasy and science fiction. He's very talented. What's the name of the film, Craig?

I'm intrigued too Huw. Was it taken from a short story already published I wonder or something new?

'Dan Kay wrote the script based on a short story by China Mieville.'

Title of short story might be interesting.

Sorry, Craig - I assumed 'details' referred to the information that followed. That'll teach me to post so late...

I honestly can't remember the details of the story... Flipping through the book I remember being impressed with stories like 'Reports of Certain Events in London', 'Familiar', 'The Ball Room' and the really great novella at the end 'The Tain' Be interesting to read Details again, keeping in mind it was optioned for film.

'Details' was written for an anthology of Lovecraftian short stories. It's very good, a bit like Karl Edward Wagner's 'Sticks'.

Mind you, if 'Sticks' had caught your eye you'd know about it.

I really liked "Sticks"! All this bodes well for "Details," to me, for what may be the film to come (these sales are just that, and I'd say only half of them ever make it to the screen).

Hey Ramsey, you should try to get him to come on to this message board.... (Yeah, him and Stephen King while you're at it )
