I'm not sure about giving awards to films that aren't out yet. That seems a bit odd, even if they've had advanced screenings. Also -- Burn After Reading? This is the first positive thing I've heard about that film. |

Burn After Reading is an exquisite, lovingly crafted spoof of the generally po-faced espionage genre, with priceless performances by some fine actors. It's an undiluted joy. Anyone who doesn't get it has no sense of irony, no ability to see the funny side of people (whether characters or film-makers) who take themselves too seriously. All those reviewers complaining that the plot wasn't logically satisfying! Unbelievable. That's like looking for continuity errors in Road Runner. |

Joel - Glad somebody got Burn After Reading. Too many people shrugged indifferently when I asked them what they thought of it. Every bit as good No Country For Old Men, even if they are two completely different entities. |

I have not seen Benjamin Button- but I really, really hope that Fincher gets an Oscar- he deserves one - for his career- and the man hopefully has lots and lots of films in him still- hell they should give him an oscar as a cinematographer. Also there is no doubt that Zodiac really showed how Fincher has matured into a very, very good character director as well. And I still think that Wall-E is the film of the year. Seems also that Danny Boyle has a good chance for an oscar- which would be cool as well... Have not seen Happy-Go-Lucky or Burn After Reading. |

Benjamin Button could be great. Fincher directing a romantic film? How dark can a love story get? |
