Well, if it isn't David Morrissey the it would be a bit daft really... Paterson Joseph?...Er WHY? you might as well just pick any actor out of Casualty or Hollyoaks really. He is a competent workaday actor really...Goood enough but not outstanding. I reckon. gcw |

Tennant has been great but I think the time is right for a change. He's too comfortable in the role and is beginning to show his lack of range. There wasn't been a really good episode since the latter half of the 3rd series. |

I think he should go too. Even my kids think it. And they like him! But WHO to replace him? Anyone, just to see how they fare? |

hi Tony! Been a while! I'm so glad to be on holidays! Got 3 weeks off in my job! (All this should be in an email and not have exclamation marks, I think.) |

They should have a I'll Do Anyone type reality show to decide who's the next one. |

The Xmas special looks exciting! Might actually been good. Not been a good one since The Xmas Invasion. (Xmas is a much better holiday than Christmas. I'm glad I was raised an X-ian.) |

Proto- after the abomination that was 'Voyage of the Damned' last year, anything would be an improvement. God that was dire... even the sight of Kylie Minogue in a French maid's outfit failed to distract me from the godawful pants-ness of the episode. *Shudder* |

I love Doctor Who me, but Voyage was utterly dreadful. I've never understood why people think Kylie is so great. |

It wasn't her acting that threatened to distract me, Jon. |

There were a couiple of excellent episodes in the last series. The library episodes were very good and teh one on the shuttle without Donna was one of the best bits of WHO I can remember - I was so shocked when I realised that RTD wrote it. It was almost an apology for some of the drivel he's served up previously - the big brother episode and the Peter kay ep were complete abominations. |

Weber, those were my favourite episodes of the fourth series, too. I thought the 'library' ones, in particular, were very good. |

The library episodes were excellent; bring back Alex Kingston, pronto, say I. And Colin Salmon (Dr Moon) would be a great Doctor. Also liked 'Midnight' (the shuttle one), and 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' (the Christie one), while I thought 'Planet of the Ood' was very moving. Also enjoyed the final two episodes, although I'm glad we were able to see them shortly after they aired in England, as when the CBC finally got round to airing the series (it ended a little over a week ago) they shoehorned the final episode - which ran 63 minutes in England - into a 60-minute time slot (with adds), meaning about 18 minutes got chopped. It barely made sense to me, and I'd seen the full version; heaven knows what a first-time or casual viewer made of it. |

So right Barbara - they should bring Alex Kingston back. A fantastic actress! |

I liked the simplicity of 'Midnight', and the creepiness and mounting paranoia of the situation. Like Jonathan, I was a little surprised it was by RTD, as his stuff hasn't impressed me too much on the whole (not as much as Moffatt's, certainly). |

I reckon RTD decided he needed to step up to the plate after seeing what Moffatt was doing. A good episode. Everyone's assuming Morrisey is the Doctor in this Xmas season. No reason why he should be. He could be an alternative Doc. Or a pretend one. Or even . . . the first one but young. Anyway, yes. WHO's continued appeal lies in the Doctor changing, seeing how the new version will react to the usual threats. I'd vote Michael Sheen, but he's a movie star now, doesn't need the gig . . . |

Argh! Weber, you bastard, you reminded me of the Peter Kay episode!! I'd almost managed to completely erase that f**king abortion from my memory. Where's the whisky? Sod that, where's the antifreeze? |

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumour that's been popping up online that Timothy Dalton will play the Master in the next series? I think he'd be terrific, but I'm afraid he'd probably upstage whoever played the Doctor... |

Sorry if I reminded you you about the absorbaloff episode. I'll try not to mention absorbaloff or peter kay. Must not mention absorbaloff in case it reminds Simon...
