I am absolutely gutted by this. Every year we lose another of the 'greats'. Probably Ron Asheton doesn't mean that much on this 'board but to me, he was one of the reasons I play electric guitar -the SOLE reason I play it the way I do. Thanks Ron - RIP. gcw |

I'm not sure which signifies the death of The Stooges more: a) The foul comeback album b) Ron Asheton's death c) Iggy's car insurance adverts Alone, any of them could have done it. Together, they were unstoppable. |

'The Weirdness' was dreadful wasn't it? My scathing review can be found on Amazon... Shame about the album, but the shows were terrific. I bet Iggy regrets those Ads now, still, at least they aren't as bad as Johnny Rotten's 'Butt-ar!' ones. gcw |

We never see adverts - pretty much everything we watch is DVD, on the Beeb or recorded so we skip through the ads. I've been playing Charles Trenet's "Boum!" (from a great 40 track double CD released a few years back) to friends recently thinking it's great fun:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0KWyWwVp0E ...but they all say "oh that - it's been on an ad for ages". Bastards. |
