Apologies if this has already been mentioned before, but has anyone seen the IT Crowd ad for the episode where Roy puts ‘CCTV’ in Jen’s flat? It was on More4 last night and there’s a shot, where we see the camera box face on. It’s standing on top of a bookshelf and the only spine that’s clearly visible states the name “Ramsey Campbell”. Just thought I’d mention it… | ||

Mark, I haven't seen that one yet, but I remember that on the commentary to 'The Haunting of Bill Crouse' (from Series 1) the director mentions that Ramsey is one of his favourite writers, along with Robert Aickman and M.R. James. I was chuffed to hear that. | ||

I liked the recent episode of Screen Wipe that was completely devoted to writing and IT writer Graham Linehan likened writing to going to the toilet - sometimes no matter how hard you try nothing happens and then there are other times you can't stop yourself no matter what. The one I could most relate to was Tony Jordan's approach: a bottle of Bacardi, an ice bucket, and the drive to stay up all night. | ||
