I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Matt Cowan. I'm a big fan of Ramsey Campbell and have been since I first read Ancient Images many years ago. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana in the U.S. My favorite Campbell short stories are "Just Waiting", "Down There", "Worse Than Bones", "The Ferries", "The Brood", "The Other Side" and "The Scar" but I pretty much really like all the ones I've read. I write short articles for Vintagehorror.com about the old time horror writers such as M.R. James and William Hope Hodgson and recently sold my first short story to Bound For Evil. It was the free promo chap book that came with pre-orders from the site, "The Collective of Blaque Reach". It's an honor to be here with all of you.

Thanks for all the greetings. I've been singing the praises of RC's work on various other boards and thought it would be good to be on the one at his own site. It's great to meet all of you.

For those of you who mentioned having a copy of my "Collective of Blaque Reach" chap book, if you get a chance to read it, let me know what you think. I really haven't heard from anyone outside my friends and family what they thought of it. Thanks.

Thanks to all for the welcomes.

Gcw,
I promise I didn't come here to try and sell stuff. I just saw that a few people said they had a copy of my story that came out as the bonus chap book story that came with Bound For Evil, and was wondering what they thought of it. If you want to see what the cover looked like you can check out the link below.

Chris morris,

Very cool! I live in Lawrence, In. on the North east side. Good to run into a fellow Hoosier here.

Matt: What are your theories of structure in relation to film vs. prose vis-a-vis genre/non-genre narrative super-structures?... Please provide detailed answers with examples.

"Hi there, Matt."

Hello. Good to meet you.

"Welcome, Matt!"

Hello Mr. Campbell,

It's a great honor to be on your message board. Your work has always captured my imagination and inspired me to want to write. In fact, I think Ancient Images was the first adult horror novel I ever read.

Can I at least be a haunted welcome Matt, or one in front of a big spooky house?

Missed off the last post even.

I can't be the only person who saw the pun inherent in the phrase "Welcome Matt".

I might be the only one who thought it was funny (It was Friday afternoon after all)
