Happy birthday, Simon. All the best and have a great day. Is it a pub crawl or a house party, or perhaps both. |

I did indeed, pal. Truly heroic quantities of Black Bush whiskey were consumed. Feeling a bit fragile today but probably nowhere near as much as I deserve to! Cheers to Joel, Ally and Weber! |

Happy Birthday Simon! Glad to hear that in these credit-crunch times you've been doing your bit to support some venerable institutions. Very public spirited of you! |

Certainly spirited. Although he refused to neck the full half pint of whisky he ended up with at one point. |

Not in one, but you must admit, the glass was indeed empty by the end of the night... and we still made inroads into a bottle of Laphroaig afterward. All in all, a night to remember (and the fact that I do is quite something.) And there are photos, too... heh heh heh. Lord P- well, these old whiskey distilleries represent a vital part of our cultural heritage. Almost as much as, say, Gray Friar Press... |

A bottle of Laphroaig was opened and I wasn't there! Nectar of the gods, that... |

Had a great time although I had to head off to get back through the snowbound hills to Yorkshire. Stumbled into an almost end of winter happening after the Imbolc fire festival. Happy Revellers, travelling home by train from Marsden. An appropriate end to a wonderful day :>) |

Hi Weber! Would have been great to have seen you but had three trains to catch. Got in about 10.20p.m. which was cool - well it was. Was well below freezing. Takes longer to get back here than it does to get to London. |
