Some of you may know that I've been having a little trouble with Crowswing Books, the publisher of my first book THE IMPELLED AND OTHER HEAD TRIPS. Anyway, I'd like to report that Sean Wright has done the decent thing and transferred the files for the book to me. So now I have control of my first collection of short stories, a book that our landlord in his introduction to it called "important".

Since that's the case, I'm offering copies of the book to folk in the UK for only a fiver plus £2 P&P, and to folk in the US at only $8 plus $6 P&P. Just email me here at gary.fry[@]virgin.net (remove brackets) so that I can send you a PayPal invoice.

Anyone in the rest of the world, please enquire about a price via the above email addy.

There are 18 short stories in this 100,000-word collection, including the novella 'The Unmoored', which was once described by that nice man Mr Gary McMahon as "Complex, scary, allegorical, and beautifully written...a minor masterpiece."

This is a tip-top collection, folks. "The Unmoored" remains one of the best things GF has written - it's wonderful.

Yes - I can highly recommend this one. The Unmoored is great but the title story is an absolute winner as well - earning a JLP 'fucking marvellous' outcry in the service station cafe in which I was reading it, and causing upset looks from nearby families unused to the kind of appreciative outbursts produced by great literature.

I enjoyed this collection very much. My favourite tales were 'The Sunken Garden' and (I think) 'The Trip'.

I haven't got my copy at hand, but the story where the schoolkids go to the centre in the middle of the countryside. Someone help my ageing brain out - is it 'The Trip'?

Whatever its name, I loved it.

'The Trip' it was, guys. A personal favourite of mine, too.

More coming, GCW! ;)

I'm beginning to reach that stage when my older tales feel like they exist in the past, and it's a curious experience. I've only been writing seriously for about six years and 'The Trip' feels so distant. Feels nice for folk to speak about it with this degree of affection. Keeps me motivated. Thanks.
