Why is everyone wearing poncey long scarves double-looped around their necks as a showpiece rather than to keep themselves warm? |

It's an invite to use the scarf as a noose and loop the trailing end over the nearest tree branch. Feel free to try it next time you see one. |

I have several long scarves, each ones matches a different overcoat, and they are all serve the useful functions of keeping me warm while at the same time adding to my general aura of stylish eccentricity [They're also very useful for looping around bedposts to assist in swift exits from upper storey bedrooms] |

My home knitted Dr Who scarf went round my kneck roughly six times and both ends still trailed on the floor. Nobody told me I was only 5feet5 when I started knitting it! I looked like a bundle of multi coloured laundry going about the town. Would anyone here like me to knit them a scarf? By the way, scarves, or square things, are ALL I can knit, because my mother never showed me how to knit around corners. John, if you tried to use one of my scarves as an escape rope, you'd find yourself with a pair of broken ankles before it was halfway extended!!! |

[They're also very useful for looping around bedposts to assist in swift exits from upper storey bedrooms] I have ropes looped round my bedposts - to protect others when the moon is full. |

There is a guy in the office who wears a scarf indoors. Even when it's warm (and it's usually pretty toasty in Rebellion HQ). He does look a bit like an extra from Nathan Barley. |

Some prefer a cyanide tooth. For me, it's my suffocation scarf. |
