John Probert's sequel to the legendary FACULTY OF TERROR is now in stock and shipping!!!

THE CATACOMBS OF FEAR: it's even more fabulous than the first one. Form an orderly queue, you horror whores!

Available now here: http://www.grayfriarpress.com/catalogue/catacombs.html

And the cover does look rather nice: it's the first one I've designed.

Wow! What an amazingly big font! And I have to love a publisher who uses words
like 'legendary', 'fabulous' and 'whores' to plug a book of mine

I did! Where's mine?
I've got space on my bookshelves just wide enough to take the book...
Downside to getting the book this way is that I'll be unable to get Lord P. to scribble in it. Have to take it to Nottingham this year and hope he's there to sign it.

Don't try to kid me, Mr Fry, I know I preordered.

Oh dear, here we go again, a RCMB member saying complimentary things about the work of a fellow RCMB member ...

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed The Catacombs of Fear. As with The Faculty of Terror, I did think the first story ('The Neighbourhood Watch'), while good, was probably the weakest of the bunch, but everything else - the frame story, 'Mors Gratia Artis' and 'A Dance to the Music of Insanity' especially - was top draw. Hell, I even decided against watching The Wicker Man for the 478th time last night so I could finish reading it.

Congratulations! You're the first person to read it! Even John and I haven't got round to that yet!

Is there a prize for being the first person to read it? There should be. The sort of obscenely expensive prize that makes you the envy of all your friends and neighbours.

Yes. John will be round at your house this afternoon. He's staying for two weeks. Hire a butler. Press the sheets. Lay in caviar and Dom Perignon. A saucy bedmaid might be nice, though we appreciate that this is beyond most people's budget restrictions. He likes horror films and fine casual wear. And don't even mention what fucking mortgage you've got. The green around his gills will blossom and spread. It won't be a pretty sight. Furniture frenzy. The blood. Agh.

Could I not just have some vouchers? Or a CD? What about some nice pens? You can never have too many pens.

Yes, generally speaking, me and pens have always gotten along well together. Okay, there was that one Biro that leaked all over me in 1993 (we're still not talking), and I don't even want to think about that Parker fountain pen with the blood-thirsty nib ...

I never should have got involved with that bic disposable. I was warned she was cheap, but I never realised how low she would sink

I prefer to associate with those slutty little betting shop pens: cheap, stubby, and prone to leakage.

Ahem.

Thanks very much Alan! I'm absolutely delighted you enjoyed it and the above is praise indeed.

Don't listen to GF by the way - you don't need to provide me with a chambermaid. I tend to travel with my own as she understands my predilections

I like biros. They remind me of what I said to Rose as the whirring of black wings grew louder.

You seem to spend a lot of time imagining RCMB-ers in women's clothing, Weber . . . except for the women members, of course.
