Saw it last night. Despite some minor flaws -- particularly some rather unlikely behavior on the part of both the killer and the victim -- I found it intensely suspenseful. Reminded me a bit of the more nail-biting portions of HAUTE TENSION. If you've seen Claire Denis's TROUBLE EVERY DAY, you'll know the sort of menacing itensity Beatrice Dalle can bring to a role. She's definitely an imposing force in this film. It's very bloody -- almost ridiculously so -- but somehow manages to pull off an art-house feel. Recommended. |
