I think IMDB should introduce an iq test when people register to leave comments. Anyone who lists a Michael Bay film in their favourite films, or who thinks you're a retard if you like a film they dont (because it's slow and confusing) etc should be then relegated to the thick peoples comment board and leave the people who actually have a brain to have decent conversations without the usual "this film is dumb as shi t that's been pissed on by an old man" threads popping up.

(That's an actual thread title from the discussions about Los Sin Nombres"

Makes me feel better about some of the Amazon reviews of Grin of the Dark!

Amazon is like an infant school playground where they forgot to build a toilet, so they dug a hole in the ground and called it customer reviews.

Exactly! I'm surprised you even read them or care about what they say. Maybe when buying a new electric drill the customer reviews 'might' have some worth but not when we're talking serious works of literature.

I was talking about IMDB comments. They're about 4 steps down the intellectual ladder from amazon reviews. an IQ test for posters would sort that out.

I don't agree that those "uneducated" amazon reviews are worthless. After all they give the honest opinion of a certain part of the market, even if it's people you'd not want to enjoy a beer with.
Do I care about amazon reviews when browsing? Well, sometimes, as it is usually obvious when the reviewer is literate and when he can convey his thoughts well. For example, one of my (far too many) interests is cookery and there is a certain "B. Marold" on the US amazon site who writes tremendously insightful and detailed cookbook reviews - I believe he has a wall crammed with cookbooks as he reviews nearly every other interesting cookbook release.

I'd say that the statistical lowest quality feedback can be encountered on Youtube comments.
