A man was convicted toward of killing his 23 month old son and got ten years. I've never been an advocator for capital punishment, and I abhor the sentiment that a lot of people claim 'they'd quite happily pull the switch', but how does a paltry ten years justify this. The man will be locked up in a secure special wing, foregoing the chance of living in dread, just as his son did, who according to the post-mortem reports died in agony. I realize the media have recently focused on this, but not even the media can be responsible for it happening. I really don't understand how the system works, if indeed it works at all. |
