Just finished this. Absolutely bloody brilliant. I love the old portmanteau films, and thoroughly enjoyed The Faculty of Terror, although there were moments I felt JLP was still perfecting his art in Faculty. His sheer sense of fun and obvious enthusiasm for his subject matter more than made up for it though.
This book, however, is just about perfect. If you've not already got it and read it, get hold of a copy now. I'm sure Gary F. won't turn your money away.

Thanks Mick! People do seem to think this one is better but I'm still much to close to it to be objective. I think I'm going to be as interested as anyone to see where the next one goes. I think I've finally exhausted my desire to restage a 'Play For Today with Murders' but I agree with you - if they ever film CoF the first story should be shot with big collars and a beige filter. Plus there should be an Edward Craven Walker lamp on the table instead of candlesticks. Damn! I should have put that! Oh well next time....

"You going to FCon? Hope so!"

Sure am. Cheque went off a few days ago, I will be flogging my new album 'A Parallellogram Of Suitcases' over the weekend.

So save a few pennies...:-)

Natch!

When you pack for the hotel, don't forget to add a trapezium of your finest shirts and perhaps a obtusely angular tie.

From what I hear you'll need non-Euclidian shoes to navigate the Britannia.

We aren't staying at that shit-hole!

We are staying at a far more salubrious venue 'cross the street.

Are you going Niki?

A sterling and elegant review, sir. Ever thought of becoming a Michelin reviewer?

It ain't that salubrious, 'cos they've let me and Debs book a room there too.

We've chickened out and booked into the Park Plaza. Too much buggering about with room keys that didn't work at the Britannia last year.

We're in the Britannia - for the Saturday only. I didn't have the time to organise anything else, and I quite like staying in the hotel whetever function I'm attending is held in.

See you all there!

Does it matter where we are given that we'll all be hangover hell all weekend?
